Our spacious and sunny studio apartment sleeps two, and is located within the prestigious Vitalhotel complex in Gosau. It's leisure, sport and spa facilities, and its fine restaurant and bars, provide us with all the essential ingredients we love for a truly fabulous holiday amid the beautiful lakes and mountains scenery.
All these amenities are available to us and our guests, and the restaurant offers special rates, too, so with free use of the indoor pool and sauna - and ski-bus to lifts - this is the prefect destination for couples of all ages seeking exhilerating activities and relaxation - all year round.
High up on the 3rd floor, our well lit apartment boasts fabulous views over the Gosau valley to the massive Dachstein mountain nearby, towering above the Gosausee lake. And the balcony is a lovely place to dine at the end - or start - of the day, with the gentle tinkling of cowbells and distant church bells chiming to create a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere.
Altogether we have a large living room (with the sleeping area at the rear, and two sofas and a dining table at the front), a bathroom (with tub and shower) and the kitchen. And downstairs, the hotel offers us many welcoming areas for sitting (inside and out), dining, drinking, playing games, taking spa treatments, swimming, etc.
All this is just 500m from the village centre across grazing meadows. Here are banks, a supermarket, a petrol station, the tourist office, shops, bars and restaurants, a pool, walking trails, ski tracks ...
Only a short drive away are many other popular sightseeing destinations such as Hallstatt, where you'll find the lake, lakeside bars and restaurants, swimming, boat trips, the salt mine and Ice Cave and the stunning '5 Fingers' panorama point.
Gosau valley is crowned with the impressive jagged crags of the Gosaukamm range. It's a stunning sight. Beside it is the premier ski resort (Dachstein West ski area). In summer this beautiful lakes region attracts walkers and cycling enthusiasts, lake swimmers and sight-seers - and the health spa on site offers complete relaxation for those not used to it!
